Că a luat foc o maşină în faţa Casei Presei Libere am aflat cu toţii. Intrând aici ca să văd şi eu magistralul filmuleţ şi citind comentariile, am dat peste cretinul asta. Nu mai are rost sa zic ceva despre el, faza cu “5o de cuvinte” spune totul. Cam ăsta e nivelul internauţilor din România. Îi ştim cu toţii. Erau colegii din liceu care abia treceau clasa, de milă, şi stăteau toata ziua prin internet cafe-uri. Probabil, sătui de Counter-Strike, s-au apucat de comentat ştiri şi bloguri. Iată inteligenţa debordantă a ăstuia:

Cu lansarea primului episod High-Definition, creatorii The Simpsons au venit si cu un nou intro. Mai lung, mai fresh si plin de detalii subtile 🙂

A fost fain la Orange Concept Store in seara asta, cu ocazia Buchatwest, organizat in cadrul evenimentului global Twestival, pentru a sprijini misiunea charity : water.

A fost o metoda buna de a aduna oameni la un loc, de a-i face sa interactioneze fara nicio constrangere, intr-un cadru destins si de a-i apropia, pentru o cauza nobila. Programul artistic a fost asigurat de IMPROvizat si de @AlexandraAlec

Am avut ocazia de a schimba rapid mai multe sau mai putine vorbe cu oameni pe care-i vedeam prima oara offline, de a cunoaste oameni noi (si de foarte buna calitate) si de a revedea prieteni vechi. Acolo am petrecut ceva timp cu @dianamaria (cea care a dus greul organizarii acestui eveniment), @1nu, @lucianmarin, @tudor_totolici, @Phoebs, @alexsinov, @fatacusoarele, @necenzurat si cu alti twitteristi proaspat adaugati la lista de follow 🙂 Imi pare rau ca @sandossu n-a ajuns, dar a fost cu gandul aproape.

Am primit si un tricou (kung fu style) de la yahoo pentru 10 twitteristi cunoscuti in seara asta si mi s-a spus ca am fost extras la tombola, dar deja plecasem (alta locatie, alta poveste). Oricum, nu venisem pentru premii 🙂

Per total, a fost un eveniment frumos, amuzant, care a adus destul de multi oameni, chiar neasteptat de multi, si a ajutat la strangerea de fonduri pentru cei 1.1 miliarde de oameni care nu au acces la apa potabila.

I installed the new Beta 1 of Windows 7 for a little spin, to live test the new features and see in action the upgraded user interface.

I used my home desktop, running under Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex (8.10). Credits go to the hamsters under the hood: an Intel Pentium D820 Processor (dual-core 2.8GHz), 2.5 GB Ram 667 MHz, onboard video, on a Western Digital WD800JB HDD.

For virtualization i used the latest Ubuntu version of VirtualBox, with a config of 1.5GHz RAM and 128MB video, with a 30GB file virtual disk image (.vdi) placed on a ext3 partition.

http://twitpic.com/1192b – Installed in about 30-35 minutes from an ISO image file and it took 23.2GB of disk space. Looks nice, works pretty well, 128MB video set, yet no Aero 🙁

http://twitpic.com/119ca – The games are pretty much the same as in Vista, love the Mahjong, yet I miss the Texas Hold’em.

In the bottom right corner  of the screen notice the little space. It’s the new “show desktop” icon. I like the new taskbar arrangement, i like also that you can customize it to make it look/feel almost like the XP/Vista taskbar, but I fear that the new windows’ management will let users forget about opened windows, resulting in increasing memory usage and lower responses from the OS. A huge bug/feature is the number of windows titles available when placing the mouse over an icon, limited to 5.

Hope you enjoyed this quick trip in the world of Microsoft Windows 7 Beta 1. It’s a nice operating system, a very good one, considering that it’s the first beta, way better than Vista, and it makes me foresee that most of the Windows Vista users will upgrade to Windows 7 as soon as the final version will be released. Anytime soon I’ll install it without virtualization, to test its’ engines at full power.

Soon i’ll come with more updates and more thoughts about this fine Microsoft release. As i was earlier saying to dianamaria, Microsoft managed to impress me in a pleasant way.

Please share your experience with Windows 7 and spread the word! imho, it’s a good OS.

UPDATE: Se pare ca baietii s-au prins de mica “gluma” a romanilor si au corectat majoritatea cazurilor de mai jos. Inca mai functioneaza “I use Outlook“, dar probabil va fi modificata cat de curand. Multumim romanilor de la Google pentru micul easter egg 🙂

Azi Schl mi-a aratat o chestie funny. Nu stiu daca e modul Google de a face caterinca de Microsoft si de produsele lor sau daca e o metoda subliminala de a-i indemna pe romanii putini stiutori de internet sa apeleze la solutiile alternative, dar la niste traduceri simple avem parte de urmatoarele rezultate. Desi am fost tentat sa cred ca e un bug, la sfarsitul postului aveti un screenshot cu un cuvant oarecare, sa zicem “Firefox”. (click pe poza pentru zoom, click pe link ca sa testati si voi). Precizez ca “fenomenul” nu are nicio legatura cu browserul sau sistemul de operare pe care-l folositi si ca se aplica numai traducerii in romana (am incercat si traducerile in spaniola, portugheza, italiana, iar alte limbi nu prea stiu). Va invit sa radeti si voi si sa veniti cu alte cuvinte pentru care se aplica traducerea 🙂
